The Lake by Locals is a project started in February of 2024 to capture local stories and history for people who love Lake Tahoe! Our founder, Anneliese, started the project in hopes to teach locals and visitors alike about the history of Lake Tahoe and to share local legends. Anneliese and her family have lived in South Lake Tahoe for over 50 years.

By fostering a deeper understanding of the area’s unique past, we aim to inspire current and future generations to appreciate and protect the historical and cultural heritage of Lake Tahoe for the benefit of the community and beyond.
